I was reminded recently in a conversation with one of my sons how difficult it is to be in middle school. You might remember middle school as well, or you might prefer to forget those few years. Bottom line, growing in the midst of lots of changes as a middle school student includes uncertainties about who you are, questions about sexuality, relationships and emotions..and it is overwhelming. Recovering from trauma, anxiety and depression can feel like it will never end as well and that there is no space to rest, and that it, or you, will never get healthier. There is hope…really! Growing through middle school, or trauma requires good guides, consistent removal of that which is not healthy and eventually, slowly, almost imperceptibly, there is observed growth and health. There is hope, keep reaching out for what you need!
